HISTORY

At the 2006 Colorado Mental Health Disparities Conference, collaborative partners took an active role in planning and presenting on the unique Mental Health needs of their communities, and on the types of culturally congruent services that were valued and desired by their communities. The Colorado Multi-Ethnic Cultural Consortium (CMECC) is an out-growth of the work of that Conference, including the resulting 2007 Policy Brief on Mental Health Disparities in Colorado (PDF).

CMECC is currently funded by The Colorado Trust, through the generous Advocacy for Increased Health Insurance Coverage Grant.

In September 2008, CMECC hired Monica Griego as the Executive Director to build the organizational infrastructure, vision, and board to ensure its continued success.
