Enrollment Fairs

The vast majority of children who are eligible for, but not enrolled in, public health insurance options are children of color.

Over the past year, CMECC has partnered in over six community Enrollment Fairs, registering over 500 children into Medicaid and Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+).

Watch for the 2010 Enrollment Fairs schedule, coming soon!

CMECC was instrumental in designing the Enrollment Fair model. Our expertise allows us to pull together state and community resources to provide families with health coverage on the spot. We have the community relationships to draw hundreds of families from ethnically diverse backgrounds to participate in these important events. To make it easy for interested families, we bring these Enrollment Fairs to community settings that are easily accessible such as churches, public schools and community centers.

Enrollment Fairs help to:

  • Directly enroll families of color into the public programs they desperately need
  • Understand the barriers that prevent families from accessing the health care benefits they need
  • Develop policy initiatives and legislative recommendations that improve the Colorado health care delivery system
  • Build CMECC community relationships

CMECC is a strong advocacy voice for the underserved multi-ethnic communities across the state. Helping Colorado people of color access the benefits they need and deserve is one way we demonstrate our commitment to building healthy families and healthy communities.
